Nike Lunar Glide Review

The Nike has released its new Nike Lunar Glide.  An invitation was sent to bloggers to test and review the shoes.  Unfortunately, it was scheduled on a Saturday and Quennie and I are unable to attend.  Instead, we asked Nats aka Zixednatz aka i2runner if he is interested to make a review for us.  Nats is a certified Nike Lunar fan with his arsenal of 3 Lunar Trainers.  With his experience in wearing them, I know he is the right person to do this review.

I called up Natz if he was willing to be test the shoes.  And like a lady receiving an engagement ring, he immediately said yes.

Nike Lunar Glide

Here is Nats first impression with the Nike Lunar Glide.

First impressions

When I put the Glide on, they feel a little roomier than the Trainer. Then I took it for some test run around my running road for just about 400meters. Then, BAM!!! WOW!!! Talk about rocket science, the Lunar Glide is better than the Lunar Trainers! Believe me when I say this, because I am a fan of the Trainer and have 3pairs of them already. The Glide has a bouncy cushiony feeling similar to the Nike Shox, but is way lighter. The Trainer have great pillow-like cushion, but it doesn’t have any bounce… well it does but not like the Glide.

With every step, the Glide seems to absorb and store the shock, and then returns the energy during liftoff. It’s kinda like a hybrid car that uses dynamo brakes to store kinetic energy into electrical energy in its high capacity battery, and then uses it back to accelerate the car through an electric motor. So in theory, if a hybrid car could have a lot of Miles Per Gallon, I believe the Glide would make runners run more efficiently, therefore run longer and faster.

Due to the rain, he was only able to test them for 400m just to get the feel of the shoe. Visit Nats blog, i2runner to read more of his review and click here for the group test run.

Thanks Natz for reviewing the shoes for us.  Haaay… I still hope I can get my pair of Lunars too.  😀

Ehem…
