I Got a Ticket To Run

This is what I love with cheap airline fares from Cebu Pacific.  It gives me a chance to travel more and run more.  I got tickets to run.  Not just one ticket but three tickets to run.  Since last month, I have been waiting for announcements for promo fares.  And here’s what I have Iloilo in September, Bacolod in October and Dumaguete in November.  All fares were just below 1,500Php for a round trip ticket.

This is exactly what I need to have the motivation to run.   I have no specific goals lately and I could harldy complete a 21K.  These three events in the Visayas got me excited to increase my mileage once again.  Would you be there in these events, too?

Iloilo – September 26, 2010- 21K

I usually skip the Milo Marathon – Manila Elimination Leg but would run a provincial leg instead.  Last year, I joined the Milo Marathon – Elims at my hometown in Bacolod.  This year, I’m joining the Iloilo Leg.  The last time I was in Iloilo was during my sister’s graduation in 2008.  This is a good reason to be back in Iloilo.  I have 6 weeks to train.  I’m not aiming to qualify but just to finish the race.

May medal ba sa 21K?

Bacolod-Mambukal – October 10, 2010 -28K

This is one of my dream run.  A 28K uphill run from Bacolod KM0 to Mambukal Mountain Resort.  I blogged about this last month and looks like I won’t be alone.  Cicero aka Nonoy721 from Iloilo and Jerry aka HighAltitude told me they will be joining.  That’s great.  Now, I’d be pressured to run fast like they do.

Cicero finished the Milo Marathon – Manila Elims last July.  I’m not sure what Jerry is up to lately.  Nagadalagan ka pa da?

Dumaguete – November 21, 2010 – 38.5K

I consider this as one of the tourist destination for runners.   Every year, the runners in Dumaguete organize a run during its fiesta.  This year, it’s the 5th Dumaguete  Adventure Run & Duathlon, scheduled on the Third Sunday of November (Nov 21).  It’s a 38.5 kms course of both concrete and off-road route.  Best part is having the scenic views of Negros Oriental which I came to love when we visited it on 2007.  I have the ticket to join this event so they better make this happen.  😀

Take note that the Dumaguete Adventure Run is 38.5 kilometers. That is almost a full marathon already.  So why not finish the year with another full marathon on December 5 at the QCIM?  Hmmm…

These are my tickets to run.  Quennie won’t be joining me in any of these.  She will not join me in Iloilo and Dumaguete but will be supporting me in my Bacolod.
