A Bad Cut Cuts Me Off From Running

It started as a great day with a 13.5KM run in the island of Corregidor.  It was very serene and very close to nature.  Only 2 vehicles passed by during the entire run.  The sound around the island made me stop the music on my iPod.  I listened to the chirping birds, the rustling of the leaves and the strong blow of the winds.  It was a perfect run.

But later in the morning, we had a swim on the beach.  While swimming and jumping over the big waves near the shore, I stepped on a rock with some pointed shells on it.  I sustained a long and deep cut on my right foot.

Tsk tsk…

I refuse to post a picture of my foot here. I don’t think you’d like that idea anyway.  But the photo above is how the cut looks like.  It’s long, about 2 inches but it is only deep by half an inch.

I feel pain when I right foot lands on the ground while walking.  So I missed the group run last Monday.  I badly need that 22KM run.  I envy the group pics.

Group Run LSD - The Fort

I envy you guys.  Thanks for sharing the pic.
More pics from the group run last August 31 at Allan’s FB Page.

I hope this will heal fast.  So far, I can walk with little pain on a well-cushioned shoes.  Maybe tonight or tomorrow I can do a short run and get back on track.

Anyway, despite the cut, I bring good memories with my solo run at Corregidor last Sunday.  I’ll share more about it in another blog.
