My Garmin Forerunner 405 Gone Dumb

The GPS watch could be the best invention created for runners in this century.  It is like in every runners wish list.  I bought my Garmin Forerunner 405 thru eBay last December 2008.  It's a gift for myself and I used my earning from my ambigrams to buy it.  I named my Garmin, "GF".

But it has been an on and off relationship with my GF.  I even bought another GF, a Garmin Forerunner 310XT but we didn't last long after a bad incident.  It proves that it is bad to have two GFs at the same time.  😀  I am now left with my refurbished Garmin 405 which I got after a repair last June.

Tonight was another OFF relationship.  For some reasons, my GF just made a wrong plot and measurement of the route I ran a while ago.  The Garmin 405 made an inaccurate measurement.  The first kilometer was out of the actual road. It even started on the other road parallel to where i actually started.  And according to my GF, I made a loop where there are actually buildings or parking lots on it.  I swear I didn't run over the buildings or the cars.

Anyway, it was one of those days, or nights.  That's why I don't get that upset if a race route was a little bit off from what my GF is telling me when I run an actual race.  It could be some "third party" issues like satellite reception or solar flares.

Check the run I had a while ago as recorded by my Garmin 405.  See the inaccurate plot for the first kilometer.  But after that, it was able to pick up and made up for it.  This doesn't happen that often.  But this is the worst so far.
