KAI Running Sandals – Proudly Pinoy Made

I saw one of the runners preparing his sandals during the Takbo.ph Runfest.  It was my first time to see someone wear a huarache for a race.  I asked a lot of questions and found out that there are handmade sandals from Cebu.  Check out the KAI Running Sandals.

KAI Running Sandals are a variation of the Huarache Sandals. They are handmade from Cebu, Philippines.  You can order these sandals online through their Official KAI Facebook Page.  You can view the order form here.

The huarache was on my wish list last year.  I thought it is not available in the country but KAI Running Sandals has been around since last year.  From their facebook page, marathoners and ultramarathoners have been using KAI in their races.  I don’t have the same strong feet yet so I don’t imagine wearing them that long.

KAI Running Sandals just costs 500 Php.  Add a shipping cost of 165 Php for orders outside Cebu.  That is a very reasonable cost.

I think I should get one.
