hi, i registered for run and race events. i didn’t know that the race was a biking event. i do not have a bicycle and we thought that it was also a running event. you guys didn’t give a mere explanation of everything.

  8. boycanrun says:

pano kaya to?…magsasabay ba yung mga running at biking sa isang route?….baka masagasaan kami..he he he

    • ric berg says:

we will make sure the previous event is done before starting the next one of course. The run events may start from 4:30 onward, although there is a suggestion from our RUN managers to start all run distances at the same time. Wed be sure to keep you posted, also at livestrongdayph facebook page and webiste.
      many thanks for your support.

  9. kris says:

Wala yata sumasagot sa mga questions natin…is this a lack of general concern by the organisers for us participants?

    • ric berg says:

sorry man, we were glad the event was picked up by takbo.ph, but were unaware so many questions has come up in its blog already. we apologize for this missand from now on we will monitor this page regularly. to be honest, we were monitoring responses from a lot of avenues like the http://www.livestrongdayph.com website, the livestrongdayph facebook page, the livestrongdayph twitter, livestrongday@gmail.com and a host of other sponsors’ forums. We apologize for this miss but this is not in any way a reflection of us ignoring participants from here. all of you are welcome to the event as it is for a public beneficiary cancer awareness advocacy. Please visit the event website http://www.livestrongdayph.com or email us at livestrongdayph@gmail.com for all event details and registration, we have an FAQ page there as well summarizing most questions we have received so far. you may also call us at 7030 287 or me direct at 09209 269 168. many thanks for your support for cancer advocacy. livestrong.

if i cannot pay and clain on the 24th and 25th, would it be possible to pay and claim on site?? or the day before the race?? thanks

  12. kris says:

parang gumulo na naman ang registration process nito…Ive registered online and I got a confirmation # in the vicinity of 1600. I was instructed to pay and claim on OCT 1 based on the ID number. However, there is a note in their website….saying first come first serve na because they failed to foresee the number of interested participants; so in other words useless ang Online registration kasi when you get a confirmation ID e HINDI na din sya guarantee na you will still get the racekit…tsk tsk..oh boy…

Sir, please clarify…If its already FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, DOES that mean even If I am instructed through email to go there on OCT 1 to pay & claim, that I can already go there this 24th & 25th??? It seems na ganun na, kasi its already FIRST COME FIRST SERVEd na…virtually rendered useless yung ONLINE registration? right?

    Thank you po.

  13. ric berg says:

We have fresh stocks for Sept 24-25 & fresh stocks again for Oct 1st to honor our commitment for those claiming on those dates.

On the first weekend release for Sept 17-18, only half claimed and we were pushing away people willing to support our cause already, and we do NOT like to do that again.

Sorry man, but your online registration was never declared as a guaranteed reservation until it is paid. Had we accepted payments online together with your registration at the same time, then we are duty bound to honor that reservation. I’d rather that you did not label it as useless as it served its purpose as an easy way for participants to register.

In the same way that when we announced a scheduled claim date, people can not guarantee they will come & claim on those dates as well. We understand that although it inconvenienced us.

If you are advised for Oct 1, you are guaranteed a jersey on that date.

But if you come on Sept 24 which is not your advised date, it is first come first serve only when we release unclaimed jerseys scheduled that weekend on Sunday late afternoon.

We appreciate the overwhelming support we are getting from your group and various other groups. For that, we are encouraged to improve on our process when we do this again next year. We are a volunteer group fighting for cancer, not a professional events organizer. We can only ask for your extended patience as we are all in this fight against cancer.

As we have always reminded our volunteers, the inconveniences we go through is nothing compared to what our cancer stricken friends & families are experiencing. Again thank you for your support.

    Livestrong.

PS. Those who are joining the Camsur Marathon who advised us they can not pick up this weekend, your jerseys are secured. Those who have not advised us yet, please do so over email at livestrongdayph@gmail.com

    Many thanks.

  14. kris says:

I am merely clarifying the confusion caused by your note at your livestrongdayph website. It says there that you’ve opened it up as FIRST come First served.for who exactly? Moreover, Its posted there that additional redemption dates are added Sept 26-30…who exactly are the people to redeem on these days? These days were never mentioned early on…Only Sept 17-18 (for 1-500), Sept 24-25, and Oct 1?

    Furthermore, it says…

+ For those who would like to make their reservation payments and pick up jerseys, here are the available schedules and venues below:

…It says RESERVATION payments?…so meaning we can pay earlier before the designated pickup dates? ito po ba yon? pakiclarify lang…

Confusing din tong part na ito…

“However, your online registration is not a guarantee of your actual payment and participation, as such, we can not reserve jerseys for you without receiving payments. To accommodate those with registration number 501 and above, we would like to announce that we are now opening the pick up and payment system to a first come, first served basis.”

OO tama nga na hindi guarantee yung Online registration & can not reserve a jersey for you without receiving payments…e wala nga kasi facility yung online register nyo to back up a participants registration with payment…paano ka makapagreserve then?

Furthermore, 1800 yung jerseys ba ito? or singlets? or combined? it seems that the terms get used loosely or interchageably…so ano po talaga jerseys po ito for the ride/rice or singlets for the run or lahat na ito?

Ive called you up & assured me a racekit on Oct 1 as that was my initial instruction in the email I got from you. Thank you for this. Confusing lang talaga yung notice nyo…

It has nothing to do with you being not a professional events organiser or what…Lahat naman tayo wants to support yung cause ni pareng LAnce as I have did back way in 2005 nung nasa ibang bansa palang sila. Plain and simple clarifications lang po talaga ito.

    Thank you.

  15. ric berg says:

No problem kris, appreciate the questions as it will avoid confusion to others as well.

Being a non-regular event, it is not easy to get an online payment system in place, like credit cards or paypal, where service fees are deducted for using their services. Bank deposits are a pain to reconcile and we do not have the volunteer manpower.

You are right, the announcement is a bit confusing because of the first come first serve statement. We are taking the effort to make claims as painless as possible. There is a total of 1800 jerseys being produced for participants, scheduled for release at 600 pcs at a time each week. Pardon me, we use the collective term jersey for all types – singlet, road cut jersey, & free ride jersey. So it is safe to assume about 200 pcs for each type. But we do adjustments based on demand as we see them in the registration database.

Again many thanks for you support.

  16. ric berg says:

Please go to the main page of the website at http://www.livestrongdayph.com and not straight onto the registration page so you will see important announcements & updates before registering.

    Thanks.

  20. fitfy says:

I was also not able to pay and claim my singlet this weekend but I was able to register online. Pwede rin ba ako mag-claim sa October 1?

  21. mackoy says:
