Iphone App Feature: Wahoo Fitness and Wahoo Run Pack

Wahoo Fitness is an iPhone App for Runners, Cyclist and other sports activities. Wahoo Fitness uses an ANT+ iPhone transceiver and a Fisica sensor key to capture various heart rate straps, foot pods, bicycle cadence monitors, weight scales, bicycle power meters and any other sensor. All you have to do is download the Wahoo Fitness app for free and purchase the Wahoo Fisica ANT+ key from their store online.

For runners, the system uses a small dongle that connects to the iPhone making the device ANT+ capable. An arm band holds the phone in place and you can have everything you need during your workout. Suddenly, your iPhone turns into a wellness machine that incorporates GPS and telemetry, capable of monitoring your live speed, power, heart rate, cadence, heart rate zones and other metrics.

For cyclists, your iPhone is encased in a shockproof, waterproof sleeve that mounts to your stem or between your aerobars.

The information can be easily and quickly shared to multiple software systems like Training Peaks, Strava, Garmin Connect and email the actual data files all at the same time. Additionally, Wahoo Fitness has the ability to upload real time data to the web via Map My Tracks so that anyone can watch your metrics live and show where you are on the map in real time.

The system works with 3GS and 4 iPhone models and all ANT+ accessories. Wahoo can also import data from your Garmin device like the Forerunner 310EX without plugging your Garmin into a computer. The unit is a low-energy app so you don’t have to worry about your battery life.

Wahoo Fitness is designed by Chip Hawkins who is a triathlete himself. He decided to create a utility where he can upload all his ride data to a single device, bringing iPhones into the sport.

Once you get yourself hooked with your iPhone, Wahoo practically gives an endless solution for all your needs – saved run or ride data, a shock-resistant, water-resistant housing mount, low-energy app and live telemetry. And they work in Android version, too.
