RunRio Trilogy’s Run United Series Marks More Firsts
Run United 1 on March 4 is the opening salvo

Run United 1, slated for March 4, will officially open RunRio Trilogy this year. This will be followed by Run United 2 on June 17 and Run United 3 on September 16. At this early, the running community’s support is already evident with the increasing pace of registration for Run United 1 since it started barely two weeks ago.

Runners are in for a number of new features and exciting firsts that will make their running experience better. Among these are new race routes, better hydration stations, improved security, more safety marshals, and new freebies among others.

“We assessed the previous years’ run races of RunRio and Run United.  We took note of areas that still has room for improvement and listened to the runners’ suggestions. So hopefully, the changes we have put in place will make a difference to the runners’ performance and overall running experience,” said Rio dela Cruz.

Organizers Unilab ActiveHealth and Run Rio Inc. are full speed in their preparations for the sixth offing of Run United and the third-year offering of RunRio Trilogy. There will still be five race categories: Ceelin 500m dash for kids, 3k, Dolfenal 5K, Enervon 10K, and Enervon HP 21K.

Topping the list of new features is the new pre-race giveaway—a race belt or bib holder. Different freebies (runner’s accessories) will be given away in succeeding Run United races.

Half-marathoners will not only get a unique collectible finishers medal at Run United 1, they will also get to have new race route—starting at Bonifacio Global City BGC) in Taguig and finishing off at Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Shuttle service will be provided from Mall of Asia as pick-up point for 21K runners. Details will be announced.

“The new Run United finisher medals are really a good token and incentive to participants who will run in all three RunRio Trilogy races. It will complement the loyalty shirts also” said Dela Cruz.

Kids will also get to have their own singlet. After all, Run United prides itself as the first to have introduced a 500-meter dash in its races. “The kids will feel like real runners with their own singlet and we hope it will encourage them to continue running,” cited Dela Cruz.

“Of course, the biggest and most-awaited ‘first’ this year is Run United’s very own full marathon, the Run United Philippine Marathon, which will be the culminating event of the Run United series. It will definitely level up the running experience of Run United participants. We are happy that we continue to be  part of their growth as runners,” Dela Cruz said. The 42km race is scheduled for October 28.

Registration for Run United 1 is ongoing at these stores: Riovana at Bonifacio Global City and Katipunan, Quezon City; Toby’s at SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City; and The Athlete’s Foot at Robinson’s Galleria, Ortigas.
