Life’s a Beach at Women’s Health Beauty and the Beach 2012

Two weekends ago, we were in Boracay for Beauty and the Beach. This is the 4th year that Women’s Health staged this event. As expected, ladies who signed up and joined the classes enjoyed the time of their life.

Day 0, Friday

We were greeted by a beautiful and spacious suite in Pearl of the Pacific. The suite, which they call residences are at the top of the hill with such scenic views of lush forest.

During the press briefing, it was good so see familiar faces – Summit Media Family, Hilary’s back to host and Marlette to teach the dance classes. It was indeed nice catching up with both of you again 🙂

As Team Publisher Christine Ongteco says  ”We prepared this year to be bigger and better”.

Here’s the schedule of the two-day signature event for all the ladies:

Beauty and the Beach Day 1
Hapa Haole Hula Starts
Cardio Mashup

Beauty and the Beach Day 2
Hatha Flow Starts
African Jam Starts

This year, it’s definitely bigger as there’s another dome, with treats such as mani, pedi and a spa by the beach. Just by simply flasing the 3rd anniversary issue of Women’s Health with Anne Curtis on the cover entitles them a free pass of the classes and the treats.

Friday dinner was a date over Italian food at Aria with a runner friend Joyce. It’s been quite a while since we saw each other. I think she was more excited to see Gab than either me or Jinoe. We had a great time, Joyce! Next time you’re in Manila, let’s plan for a girls night out 🙂

Day 1, Saturday

I left Gab and Jinoe sleeping and headed to the beach front to meet ladies at around 7am. I signed up and joined the Hapa Haole Hula class. It’s a polynesian dance workout,  that’s been one of my favorite class last year, involves a lot of hip and arm movements. There are more challenging steps this year but at the end of the hour, all participants pulled it off.

We capped of the evening with a Sunset Chill-out Cocktail Part by the beach. Everyone had a great time over good company and great fire dance performance. Learning a fire dance is on my bucket list. Hopefully, next summer I’ll get a chance to join a class for this.

Day 2, Saturday

Everyone woke up early and we were able play by the beach with Gab before my class.  We took an early dip at the blue Boracay waters before breakfast.

I was able to grab a full breakfast before the final class of Beauty and the Beach.  African Jam class is dance to the tune of Waka Waka released by Shakira as the FIFA World Cup 2010 Official Anthem.  Everyone loved it, we even repeated the dance a couple of times until everyone seemed satisfied.
