Garmin ForeRunner 10 GPS Watch

Garmin released the new Forerunner 10 which is a low-priced entry-level GPS watch for runners.  The Forerunner 10 is price at 129,99 USD.  It simple to use and has fewer functions than the other models yet keeps the essential data like time and distance.

Garmin FR10

The Forerunner 10 is designed to be simple to use.  A single press of the RUN button puts the watch in training mode and looks for the satellite signal.  Once found, you simply press START again and run.

It has two display lines for the basic data like time and distance.  This makes the size of the numbers big enough to be seen at arms length.

Garmin FR10 Features

The Garmin Forerunner 10 is priced at 129.99 USD.  It is still priced a little bit higher than the other entry-level GPS watches.  But I think this is for a good reason.  Garmin FR10 includes more features like the Virtual Pacer and the Run-Walk Timer.  These are two features I love with my Garmin FR610 which are not available in other entry-level watches.

Battery life is expected to be at 5 hours although actual tests have shown to be close to six hours.  Just enough for a 5K, 10K and even a 21K.  If you can run a fast marathon in less than 5 hours, then the Garmin Forerunner 10 can live up to that.

Memory can only store 7 run data. But you can use Garmin Connect to upload your runs and free up some memory space on the watch.

Some features no longer supported by the Garmin FR10 is cadence and heart rate.

The Garmin Forerunner 10 is available in three colors: black, pink and green.
