Run Against Dengue – Manila Leg will be held on September 23, 2012 at Roxas Blvd, Manila. Run Against Dengue is an advocacy run aimed at boosting information drive on how to fight dengue. It also aims to raise funds for the purchase of larvicide and WHO-certified insecticidal nets that will be donated to poor families in Metro Manila.

Yes po, kasabay ng RExona kasi nag reset sila from previous original date. Naka set na po route namin in coordination with Manila City Hall. Start and finish po Roxas Blvd (across Rajah Sulaiman Park) beside Aristocrat Malate.

Sir reydor, cannonboy, hunter and sportyspice…yes po talagang mababa lang ginawa natin para marami makasali for this advocacy drive… to think wala tayongmalaking support na corporate but we hope na makita nila and positivity nito and support it. ganunpaman, nakaipon naman po tayo giveaways for participants plus ung singlet natin is sublimation printing at hindi halatang pang running langung logo sa harap. we will also have dengue survivors in attendance sa event.

just run the event this morning,my observation is, not well organize,the route(distance)it seems not akma sa true distance.
Kulang or sobra? Parang sabi nga sa race kit dapat sa Vito Cruz yung U-turn…

Hi Elvin, Roadrunner, Flatfooted.. pardon for the late feedback. Yes we apologized that the race indeed lacked the needed length because of unexpected turn of events.. there was last-minute cut by the MPD for security reason they only knew. For the elite runners that came that day, we deeply apologize. The race in general was a decent success as no major hitches happened other than the “route concerns” that was beyond our control at that moment. I would personally see to it that that concern would be addressed properly and promptly in our next runs. Yes we were supposed to have some fun as the race was an advocacy and we expected majority of beginners and fun runners. But the support of competitive runners was so touching and we really appreciate it. Again our apologies and expect a better, decisive route next time. Thank you very much and fyi, we will start giving away anti=dengue gadgets to poor families in Manila. So your registration went a long way. mabuhay po kayong lahat runners and takbo.ph!
Thank you for the confirmation. Nagulat ako sa time ko, masyadong mabilis ko natapos yung race. Lol.
Some other things I noticed:
a. Late gun start
b. Warm up exercise person did not arrive, instead raffle was done. Mas importante ang warm up to avoid injury. (actually sore loser lang ako, kasi hindi ako nanalo… hehehe.)
c. No baggage counter was setup until very late into the morning.
d. Did you lack people in the onsite registration? (cause of delay in gun start).
e. Hydration stations were plenty – very good!
f. Maganda yung tela ng singlet (mej oversized lang ng kaunti kasi naubusan ng L sa MOA.
g. Mabilis din pala ang distribution ng loot bags.
