PSE Bull Run 2013

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. will have its annual PSE Bull Run : Takbo Para Sa Ekonomiya on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The Bull Run is the annual running event and key market education project that enables the PSE to promote economic awareness and investing in the stock market.  Like the event banner, the Exchange aims to usher the year 2013 with a bullish and hopeful beginning.

SPECIAL CATEGORIES

On top of the 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K categories, runners can participate in the following events.

Management Team Run
A buddy run for two participants running and finishing 10K each in commemoration of PSE’s 20th year anniversary celebration; the fastest male, female and mixed pair to cross the finish line together will win.
1. Participant will be in pairs, and registration forms should be attached/stapled together.
2. Participant will indicate on the top portion of the registration form “BUDDY” for encoding purposes.
3. Winning pair should start and finish at the same time.

Rat Race : Longest Distance Challenge
A group run open to corporate teams, fun clubs and schools with the winner having the longest cumulative distance ran by team members.

21K Team Category Competition
Open to groups with a minimum of ten (10) paying runners; a cash prize will be awarded to the 21K team with the lowest or fastest aggregate time.

Biggest Group Award
Open to groups with a minimum of twenty five (25) runners each; a cash prize will be given to the following categories:
1. Running club
2. Stockbroker
3. Listed company

To qualify for all group awards, participants must submit and register their entries at the same time.

      I totally agree with you. It is also easy to be manipulated by the cons who would go straight from 34th street bend to finish line instead of going down the schools area first!

    Since then marami talaga problema to PSE Bull Run kaya ayaw ko na sumali ulit. Di runners friendly ang pag organize. Marami problema like, wate station nauubusan ng tubig sa 21k runners, marshal di na makikita, registartion areas di accessible at slots ng registration laging kulang at bitin. Mag improved naman sana sila. Wag magalit observation lang po.

    maraming U-turn pero asahan natin na kaunti lang ang sasali dahil maraming kasabay na takbuhan sa ibang lugar.

      No cut off time, pero it’s best to finish it as safe and fast as u can, possible kc n maubusan ng sizes pag kuhanan ng finishers shirt. At sana po organizers I reserve nila ung sizes ng runners n ng register, Kung ano size ng singlet n kinuha un rin size ng finishers shirt.

    Runners, let us show some support and pray for the soul of Mr. Romel Dafeo, better known as RD, the president of the group Sigue Correr Runners. He passed away this morning at the PSE Bull Run after suffering from a heart attack.. May he rest in peace. Our deepest condolences. 🙁

      Guys sorry to say but our President Rommel Defeo passed away. Too bad the medic wasn’t close enough to help him , if there were only enough medic along the route he could still survive. We hope that this incident will echo to all running organizers to avoid and prevent such horrible tragedy.we are all have the same passion which is running I hope you bear on us. the Lets pray for his soul.     To Our Fellow Runners,

    Here is our official statement for what may possibly happen today.

    Cardiac Arrest due to Hypokalemia is the cause of death of our beloved President Romel Defeo. Hypokalemia is a condition of below normal levels of potassium in the blood serum. Potassium, a necessary electrolyte, facilitates nerve impulse conduction and the contraction of skeletal and smooth muscles, including the heart. It also facilitates cell membrane function and proper enzyme activity. This is according to the people who tried to revive Kuya RD and the credit goes to Ace of Red Cross Manila, Dr. Jun – Cardiologist from Asian, Sir Stew, UST ER Staff Nurse and Dr Nina Beltran from Lung Center. According to Dr. Beltran “I wish we could have done more. I hoped we could have saved him. For the race organizers, I hope from now on doctors should be on site during races and not just medics. Few minutes of intervention is critical for saving lives. I am thankful for Makati Rescue for providing AED and adequate meds. I just wish the laryngoscope was working (i’m still beating myself up for not being able to intubate on time). I wish i had a flashlight. I wish I ran faster so I could have helped him a little earlier (5mins of arrest before I got to him) For fellow runners, it’s always best to know your body and run safe.

    We pray for R D. We pray that this will be a reminder for all of us.
