Mizuno Wave Creation 18 Review

I had a chance to try out the new Mizuno Wave Creation 18 last week with fellow runners and the team from Mizuno. We had a quick run at SM Mall of Asia even though it was raining a bit. We still had fun and shared our experiences running with the shoe. A few days later, I took the Creation 18 for another 5 mile run.

Mizuno Wave Creation 18 Launch

The shoe looks really nice and fierce. I got the bright neon yellow and black colorway. It’s perfect for a night run since it will have a nice visibility on the road. Plus, it has reflectorized prints on the sides and small ones at the front and heel.

The fit is great for those wide feet. It locks well from the toe to the heel. Those with narrow feet might find it too roomy though. Everything is the interior of the shoe is soft and comfortable. Slip in your shoe and you can notice the premium feel. However, it felt tight on the heel. After several miles of running,

The Mizuno AIRmesh makes it a nice breathable shoe. But it makes the upper a bit thicker than my previous shoes. The thick upper has an advantage though for being more resistant to water. Despite the rain during our test run, the shoe kept the water out and kept my socks dry.

However, the Mizuno Wave Creations 18 is heavy which is typical for maximum cushioned shoes. It’s not great for chasing your PRs. But the added cushioning makes it perfect for heavy runners.

Mizuno Wave Creation 18 Review Summary

Neutral runners who are looking for a durable shoe for their long runs will love the Mizuno Wave Creation 18. Heavy runners will also benefit from its maximum cushioning construction. It will be stable ride that will be consistent from mile zero to the finish line.
