Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds Review

Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds surprises me with its decent noise cancelling capability, long battery life and reasonable price.

I bought a noise cancelling headphones last year. I love how quiet the surroundings will be whenever I wear them. It is so good that my friend even calls it a wife cancelling headphones. Hehehe. But it’s an over-ear type and not even sweat resistant. I won’t be able to use it while running.

I have been looking for a wireless earbuds that has active noise cancelling (ANC) capability and sweat proof at the same time. Most brands can only offer one feature. So it is either an ANC only, or sweat-proof only. If it provides both, the price is too expensive already.

PLANTRONICS BACKBEAT GO 410 FEATURES

Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Earbuds has a neckband design. I’m not a big fan with neckbands but they were comfortable and lightweight when I wear them for running. It’s flexible too. It fits in a small pouch making and easy to carry around.

Plantronics says it should last 8 hours of continuous music with ANC enabled. I often wear them for about 40-50 minutes at a time. But it takes about 6-8 uses before I need to charge them. So far, the battery life is long enough.

The BackBeat GO 140 has the Plantronics patended magnetic sensors. I often forget to turn off my wireless earbuds after use. The battery gets drained without me knowing it. But with the magnetic sensors, I get to conserve battery life automatically by simply snapping the two earbuds together.

PLANTRONICS BACKBEAT GO 410 REVIEW

Lightweight and Flexible. BackBeat GO 410 is very lightweight. It doesn’t fall off when I run and stays in place. There are earbud sizes available in the box so pick one that provides a snug fit. Since it is flexible, I can easily bend it around to fit its small pouch. It’s easy to carry along.

The neckband design has it’s drawbacks though. It will fall off when I lie down to stretch on the floor. It also bounces up and down my neck if I move too much. But it is OK if I limit it’s use for running and spin class where my bouncing is minimal.

Good Noise Cancelling Capability. Whenever I wear turn on the Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 in the gym, I can clearly notice how the hums of machines and clanks of metal being cancelled out. It’s not a total blackout of noise. There are still some noise left. But I just add music and I’m in my own little world.

Long Battery Life. Plantronics says that the BackBeat Go 410 has 8 hours of battery life. I was able to use the earbuds for about 6 hours before I need to charge it again. It’s impressive considering that others would have it at 4 hours.

Magnetic Smart Sensors. This feature is new to me and I find it very useful. Turning it off is easy as just snapping the two earbuds together. It helps conserve battery life. And it also helps the wires not get too tangled and messy.

Sweat Resistant. There is no IP rating on the Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 but I was able to use it while running with no issues so far for more than a month. Despite those speed runs, the earbuds was able to handle the sweat.
