Does Running Make Love Stronger?

Just in time for the month of love, I have a curious question.  Does running make love stronger?  Do you love your partner more because you run?  Or maybe you found someone special because of running?

Exactly three years ago, I asked Quennie to marry me.  Read the story on how I made the proposal HERE.

I am still so much in love with her. (Even if she is 20 lbs heavier. :D)

And in my opinion, yes.  Running makes love stronger.  Here’s why.

  • There’s a lot of bonding time between partners.  I love it when Que and I run together.  We may finish at different times but after we finish, we bond together.  We talk about the race.  We plan for their next races together.  We train together.
  • Running is a passion that can be shared easily.  It took me more than a year to convince Quennie to join running events.  But ever since my first race in 2006, she was there to support me.  Even though, she wasn’t running then, she was there all along to share it with me.
  • Running requires a lot of support from one another.  This is where Quennie and I would find ways to help each other during tough times.  Coping up with the challenges in running a race teaches us how to get thought the everyday troubles we encounter.

So, I definitely agree.  Running makes love stronger.

How about you?  Did your love grow stronger because of running?
