Dumaguete Marathon 2011 3/5/10.5/21/42K (Dumaguete)
Dumaguete Adventure Marathon (DAM) 2011 will be on November 20, 2011 at Robinson’s Place, Dumaguete City. I joined the 32K last year and it was a simple run but very scenic. Route was extremely uphill. The view of the mountains, rivers and the seaside is a unique offering of the Dumaguete Marathon. The people of Dumagueate were so warm and accomodating. It’s one of the events I would recommend in the Visayas.

This event is imposing an age limit in each category. I am 34 years old and I’d like to join the 5Km event. If the 5Km event is for 13 – 16 year olds, I can’t join this race then?
Maryann, our marathon is “apil tanan” which in Cebuano means “for everyone.” Come run any distance you wish to run. We will accommodate you. Ignore the age categorization, just come and run. Hope to see you.

pls make your starting time for the 42k around 3-4am cause the average marathoner would finish from 4-6 hours, the 2 hour limit is for the elite group. i find the start time too late if the runs were to start at 5am. masusunog ang mga runners for 42k and it would be a big liability, heat stroke, dehydration,and other factors, for you

adrian, no problem with the heat. november is a cool month. we have lots of sponging stations with ice blocks. i organize a summer marathon in quezon city many years ago, and didnt have a single casualty. the secret is sponging stations with lots of ice. besides, half of the route is in the cool natural environment of Negros Oriental. if we start that early, the barangays runners will be passing through will still be asleep. come and have fun. we will take care of you. docmequi
Lots of expectations are on the air for this first full marathon in dumaguete. To the organizers, grab this chance to show the whole world that people from dumaguete are very much into this sport like their counterpart from Cebu and those in Manila and other parts of Luzon. For me, this will be my first official run in my hometown. See you on the 20th of November.
