The La Union Unity Marathon (LUUM) will be held on February 25, 2012 at San Fernando City, La Union. This event is the first of its kind in the the ilocandia province of la union not only because of its goals and objectives which is to help promote the beautiful province of la union as well as help the impoverished la union athletes but also to offer the best running site perhaps in the northern part of the country; the Bacsil Ridge.

I read that only the top 100 finishers of 10 K will be given the finishers medal. Is this true?

we admit that we did not use the term to connote its strictest meaning, but essentially the meaning of the term marathon can be the following:
1.A cross-country footrace of 26 miles, 385 yards (42.195 kilometers).
2.A long-distance race other than a footrace: a swimming marathon.
3.A contest of endurance: a dance marathon.
4.An event or activity that requires prolonged effort or endurance.

Sir we have a registration site located at Tarlac, look for OCTO POWER TOOLS at Tarlac City. It is located one hundred meters before SM Tarlac(right side of the road going to Manila). For information, call or text Ching at 09491580122 or tel no. (045)628-0651). Your father can register there, we also provided prototype singlets for the participants to see. By the way we will post within the week the singlet design and the winner and finishers medal.

Unfortunately we dont have a site there in Pangasinan. The nearest site to your place is our Registration Center here in San Fernando City La Union or if you will, you can access our online registration just type irunnerscommunity.org and pay your fee at BDO.

Yes Sir we have a registration site here in the center of the City. The City Government is very supportive of this endeavor at binigyan po nila kami ng registration center sa mismong harapan ng City Hall ng San Fernando La Union. Makikita nyo po ito agad pag nasa harap na kayo ng aming City Hall dahil sa napakalaking karatula na nakasabit sa Site and it is five meters away from the City Hall Building.

Yes we do have the 5K map you can see this when you visit La Union it will be posted at the registration site here infront of the City Hall starting February. You can register online or you can call me at our official numbers:09491913155 or 09153958855 if you are sure to join the LUUM then we can arrange for a reserve slot for you. By the way the route for 5k is also a beautiful site and never been explored by past organizers of fun run here.

tammy tam, hi there good morning. Yes we will be giving finisher tshirt to all finishers of the 21K or Half Marathon. Regarding the rooms, we are recommending ORT – this is a Cooperative Hotel here in San Fernando that is located in a beautiful spot(on top of the hill and overlooking the San Fernando Bay) they charge for only P250 for an airconditioned room and whats good about this hotel is that its 3mins away from the Starting Line. Other hotels range from 500 to 600 and some hotels here like Sea and Sky Hotel, Mikka Hotel are accepting chip-ins – meaning they accept 2 to 3 persons in one room and the patrons will just have to divide the hotel charge of 1200 to 1500. Hope to see you on the 25th of February, when you arrive here dont hesitate to call us, we will be glad to assist you. RUN TO REACH!
Wala bang finisher’s shirt at loot bag ang 10k?
Sir Ricky, Sir unfortunately we can only afford to give finishers medal to all 10K finishers. Ang patakbo po naming ito ay initiative ng isang Non-GovernmentOrgnization (iRunnersCommunity) and no matter how we wish to grant this kind of request but we simply cannot dahil po SELF-SUSTAINING po ang proyektong ito at maituturing na isang Run for a Cause. On the positive note, we will give loot bag and finishers tshirt to all participants of 21K which is the highlight of this event. And with God’s grace sana po maaproban ang request namin sa mga politicians dito sa amin para may pabitbit po kami sa lahat ng Tourist Runner na sasali. This is really wonderful! I’ve been running many race events here in Manila. I want to join in this run, unfortunately, I have a work here in Manila and my sched is totally not cooperating. May I know other details like: reg deadline, assy time, gun start, and are there water stations? Thank you and more power!
Fe, Good morning, regs. deadline is on February 10. Assembly time is 4:00. Gunstart for 21K is 4:45am for 10K is 5:00am for 5K is 5:15am and for 3K is 5:30am. We will be setting up water station for every Kilometer and a half or the course of routes. Pls come and join this grand event; grand for its purpose and objectives! Run to Reach!

Sir jefferson, as much as we like to give all the request of the runners but because this event is a run for a cause we have to save some resources for the benefit of our dear recipients. Ang hiling namin sa mga sasali ay isipin na lang na tatakbo sila hindi lang para sa sarili nila but also for the poor athletes here in our province – every registration counts dahil matutulungan nyo sila na makapagpatuloy na makapag-aral. Is the registration closed? I was interested in running the Half marathon category. Also in your site you mention and I quote, “…while Foreign runners are invited for special participation only…”. Does this mean that even if I want to help your needy athletes by participating in this event, I still need special participation invitation, whatever that means?

Will there be toilets near the starting/finish line or along the routes especially for 21K category?
Blade Runner, yes.. there are restrooms near the start/ finish lines. along the race routes: we’ll have to check that with the barangay officials we are coordinating with and get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks much and see you on the race! 🙂
sir gud day, how many person in a tem on 5k? how will you count the team time?
tammy, we are very sorry about the team category of the luum – the team or our group decided to scrap it out due to low turn-out of participants for this category; only 3groups have registered for this category and will certainly defeat our purpose to help our youth athletes. rather than spend the money for the prizes of the 3groups who registered we decided to just reserve the money for more important financial requirements of the event such as secure the top prize to this kids(athletes) instead of giving it outright to the 3 groups participants who registered for the category who we know will automatically win the top 3 prizes because they are only 3groups.
We already registered here in Baguio but we were not informed what time Gun start for 21k? and where would be the starting area? thanks…
