Adidas Adizero Boston 13 Review
It’s rainy season again. The roads are wet, sticky, and peppered with fallen leaves. Choosing a daily trainer that helps you train without slipping, with some spring, and still feels comfortable after hours is a must.
The Adidas Boston 13 has been my go-to lately. It’s a fast trainer—but not too stiff. It handles rain and heat and makes tempo runs feel smoother.

What I Love about the Adidas Adizero Boston 13
First, the midsole is softer. It has 13.8% more Lightstrike Pro foam than the Boston 12. That means every step feels springy under the forefoot. I can push the pace without feeling harsh impacts.
The bottom layer is Lightstrike 2.0, which gives stability. Together, the double foam stack makes the ride both lively and steady.
Inside the shoe are EnergyRods 2.0, which are glass-fiber rods that sit between the foams. They help bounce energy forward without making the shoe too rigid. I feel that toe-off pop, even on tired legs.
The upper is lighter and more comfortable than the Boston 12. The mesh is breathable and dries fast. It’s great for tackling those soggy streets. Meanwhile, the padding around the collar and tongue keeps my heel locked even when the laces come loose from the rain.
The outsole mixes Continental™ grip zones with new LightTraxion rubber. When the roads are slick from rain, I still feel confident that I won’t slip.
How the Boston 13 Feels When I Run
The first time I ran with the Boston 13s, I noticed how responsive it felt. The EnergyRods give me a forward push with each stride.
On recovery runs, the ride is still smooth, not too springy. My legs feel fresh after every run. During tempo sessions, the shoe keeps pace. It doesn’t bog down. It doesn’t feel dull. But it also doesn’t feel overly soft.
I do have narrow feet. If you have wide feet, try half a size up. Some runners mention the fit feels generous, like the Evo SL sizing.
Price and availability here in Metro Manila

Addidas Adizero Boston 13: Train to be Your Fastest
Training during the monsoon season is never easy. The roads get slippery, water seeps into your socks, lights dimmed by storm clouds. But the Adidas Boston 13 has been a dependable ally.
Its springy ride motivates speed. It feels stable when footing is uncertain. It stays comfy even when my socks are soaked. It makes rainy runs feel less dreary.
It might not be the most playful shoe out there. But for reliable pace, daily mileage, and weather-proof comfort, it’s a solid choice.
