In 2026, the University of the Philippines community will come together for a one-of-a-kind running experience that bridges two campuses, two terrains, and one enduring UP spirit.

The Argo Run: Race for the Golden Fleece and the UP Diliman Half Marathon are a twin-event running series organized by the UP Tau Alpha Fraternity in partnership with MNL City Run, slated to be held at UP Los Baños and UP Diliman. Open to all running enthusiasts, these runs are all about celebrating a shared passion for endurance, camaraderie, and purpose.

More than a sporting event, this initiative serves as a fundraising and legacy project in preparation for Tau Alpha’s 95th Anniversary Celebration in 2027 — a milestone honoring nearly a century of brotherhood, leadership, and excellence within the UP community.

Some journeys are written in myths. Some are lived — step by step, stride by stride — by runners who choose not the easy path but the heroic one.

In 2026, runners from Laguna and beyond will have the chance to become part of a story inspired by the ancient quest for greatness. Argo Run: Race for the Golden Fleece is a run that implores participants to showcase their courage and discover stronger versions of themselves in the process.

Set in the lush and storied campus of UP Los Baños and slated on March 22, 2026, the run brings participants through trail paths, open fields, and scenic ascents that test both body and spirit. Like Jason and his Argonauts braving seas and monsters, every runner is invited to meet their own challenges head-on by joining any of these four categories: 16K, 10K, 5K, and 3K.

But this event is not just about the thrill of the course. It is also a meaningful celebration of the UP identity: brave, resilient, and unyielding in the face of adversity. Through this run, the UP Tau Alpha Fraternity, in partnership with MNL City Run, aims to gather the running community for a shared purpose — to celebrate strength, unity, and the journey toward legacy.

This run is also part of a bigger story: the fraternity’s 95th Anniversary in 2027. Proceeds from the event will support Tau Alpha’s community programs, outreach initiatives, and upcoming legacy projects.
