Takbo.ph Tuesday Tips #1: Iced Sports Drinks, Yummy Vegan Breakfast and a Toning Workout

Our running and fitness tips for the week includes how to boost your endurance, improved goal setting, a yummy vegan breakfast recipe and a 16-18 minute body toning exercise.  Have a great week runners.

1. According to a new Australian research, drinking iced sports drink can increase exercise endurance by 10 percent.  Bikers who participated in the research reported to have pedaled faster and have lower rate of perceived exertion.  Maybe I should start leaving my hydration belt at home and buy ice cold drinks from convenience stores.

2. If you keep on missing your fitness goals, try setting only one simple and specific goal.  A single goal makes you more focused and is easier to take action.  So instead of aiming for 20-pound weight loss and running a half marathon at the same time,  try picking one goal first and focus on it.  The next ones will be easier to keep.

3.  Here’s a great no-meat recipe for breakfast. It solves my problem of having left over vegetables from a previous recipe.  Simply turn them into a Tofu Scramble. Some of the ingredients like yeast flakes and McKay’s vegan are hard to find locally, but I hope it goes well without them.  I can add other vegetables here instead. Read the full recipe at Vegan Yumminess.

4. Want to suffer more? (Just kidding!) Here’s a fitness exercise you can do right in your home with no equipment needed. The Tone Up Tight Routine has 6 exercises and can be performed in 16-18 minutes.  Taken from BeFitMotivation.
